2016年夏季オリンピックゲーム(2016 Summer Olympic Games)の招致(bid)に向けての各国の書類が出揃ったことと思われますが、はたしてどこが開催国となるか? やっぱりアメリカじゃないのうーと思ったりもしますが、いまのところなかなかそうでもなさそうです。本場アメリカのシカゴの新聞－CHICAGO Suntimesの10月4日付の記事に、2016年夏季オリンピックゲーム(2016 Summer Olympic Games)に関する記事がありましたので少々引用させていただきます。

Olympics bossというのは、the chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee(アメリカオリンピック委員会の議長?)のPeter Ueberroth。シカゴは7ヶ国中の３番手か４番手といっておりますが、開催国になるためには何をするべきかを語っています。
Rio de Janiero is the frontrunner on the strength of its performance in hosting a Pan American Games attended by “at least 60 of the voters” from the International Olympic Committee. Madrid is No. 2 because of a strong 2012 bid that nearly topped London. And Tokyo is third because Japan has “great leadership” and is “putting much more in the way of assets and efforts toward their bid,” he said.
リオ・デ・ジャネイロが最有力候補(frontrunnerと言っています。なぜかといえば、hosting a Pan American Games attended by “at least 60 of the voters” from the International Olympic Committee。投票する人のうちの６０人もいるとのこと。投票数は約100票ということらしいので、これは最有力です。東京は３番手。もしかしたら日本での開催もありそうですね。このまま追走して最後は鼻差か写真判定に

人間だけでなく、会社も頑張らないといけませんね。海外に進出している日本の企業は特に・・・。やっぱりこれは必要なのです－politicking(政治活動、政治工作、裏取引)。やわらかく言えば、ロビー活動(lobby)、働きかけですよね。2016年夏季オリンピックゲームが決まるまでに、政治家の言動や企業の動きにも目が離せませんよね。
You have to care about and develop real friendships globally if you’re gonna be successful in the Olympic movement.
real friendships globallyは決戦投票で必要になりそうですね。広ーく浅くの関係ではなく、本当の親友が必要です。はたして日本には世界に親友と呼べる国はあるんでしょうか・・・。同盟関係は親友とはちょっと違いますものね。
